Note:

Due to the divorce of HH Willem Count Engelbrecht Berg, he had to abdicate the titles as a divorcee (at the time) was not allowed to be the Head of the Family.  His first wife and the late mother of HH The Count Engelbrecht von Stade married Lord (Baron) Kenneth Gamble and prefered to be known by her second title as The Lady Gamble.  She also sometime used her birth title of Gräfin von Stade.  She was always entitled to the title of HH Magda Countess Engelbrecht Berg.  The Count Engelbrecht von Stade issued a special proclamation, creating his stepmother and the wife of the 16th Count Engelbrecht Berg a "Baroness" with the predicate of "The Honourable".  This title is held in her personal capacity and if she should divorce HH Willem Count Engelbrecht Berg, she will forfeit the title and predicate upon the date of divorce.  The elder brother of the current Count, Rudolph Johannes, titular 17th Count Engelbrecht renounced all titles on 1 December 1986.  On the same date his younger brother was invested as the current 18th Count Engelbrecht von Stade.  His brother created him Viscount Engelbrecht with the predicate of "His Highness" on the same day.  In essence this was not necessary as he is bearing the courtesy title after that of Count Engelbrecht of the family.  However, since he resigned all titles on 1 December 1986, his brother so created him for legal reasons.  He is currently his younger brothers heir and if he should marry he will once again revert to the original place in succession upon his younger brothers demise.  Similarly, his offspring - if any - will retain their right in the line of succession.

*"Etc". denotes all the other titels held by the family.
